I first met Ellie when she came into my shop, she had herself wanted to open a similar shop offering alternative therapies. Ellie was training to be a shaman and was also a Reiki Master and animal healer. We got on like a house on fire from our first meeting.
It was after she had had a reading from a clairvoyant working at the shop that we were talking about Reiki and because of the way we got on it felt right that I should do my masters with Ellie, just at the moment I asked her the clairvoyant came out of the reading room and said "you should both get on with it, it’ll do you both good". We set a date there and then. In the weeks that followed we became very close, doing meditations together once a week and making plans to do more animal healing, although we had only known each other a short time it felt like a life time.
We did the Masters attunements over 2 weekends. The first weekend Ellie said we’d do a journey to meet my power animal, and then let my power animal take me and show me how I would use this new level of Reiki. It was an amazing experience and one I will never forget I had a huge tiger with me with a red ribbon tied in a bow round his tail, what a wonderful character. After the journey where I met this tiger Ellie said she could still feel the energy of him in the room something she had never experienced before, someone else’s power animal. She went on to do the attunement, for me a very powerful and moving experience one I had not felt when doing my Reiki one and two.
The following weekend after spending the week learning the new symbols Ellie returned to do the 2nd part of the masters attunement, bringing with her a gift for me, it was a beanie tiger for me to keep in my car for protection. The day went much the same as the week before with a journey followed by an attunement. When the day was finished I walked with her to her car and as always gave her a big hug, she thanked me for coming into her life. Unbeknown to me this would be the last time I ever saw Ellie. On the Monday evening at about quarter to ten I phoned Ellie to give her some information and just before the end of the call she said “Oh Jane I must tell you this, I did a journey today and your tiger was there and yes he was complete with red ribbon.” That was the last time I spoke to her.
On Wednesday 5th October I had a call to say Ellie had been killed on Tuesday in a freak car accident, my dear special friend who had given me a tiger for protection in my car had been killed in hers. I, like many people, asked the question why and what was the point? I had learned so much from Ellie and now she had been taken away so quickly. A friend at the time said “she came into your life for a reason you just don’t know what it is yet”
At first I felt I didn’t want anything more to do with Reiki, I was going through the healing crisis from the attunements and added to this was the grief and loss of my dear friend. Then slowly more people were coming to me knowing that Ellie had done my masters and asking would I do their Reiki attunements, because of Ellie I was meeting lots of like-minded people some of whom became very good friends and who I still work with from time to time. When I’ve done attunements some have even reported seeing Ellie sitting watching over us.I’m now pleased to say that I now know why Ellie came into my life. She gave me a wonderful opportunity to help others and now she works with me in spirit, she’s been assigned to be my teacher and work with me. If ever I’m feeling down or in doubt about my work there’s Ellie pushing me on.
I still miss the physical touch, the not being able to pick up the phone and not being able to fulfil the plans we’d made to work together, but it’s a great comfort to know my dear friend is helping and working with me still.
